CECH: Counseling Department 70th Celebration

Friday, Nov. 7
6-8 p.m.

Graduate by Hilton Cincinnati
151 Goodman St.
Cincinnati, OH

Join us in celebrating the Counseling Graduate Program within the School of Human Services at the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. The event will feature alumna Dr. Sarah Lanman ’05, ’11, who will share her memorable experiences as a master's student, doctoral candidate, and faculty member in the UC Counseling Program. She will reflect on her journey and highlight the program’s rich 70-year history at UC.

About the Speaker

With an MA in Mental Health Counseling (2005), an EdD in Counselor Education (2011), and five years as a full-time Counselor Educator (2015–2020), Dr. Sarah Lanman has had the privilege of experiencing these three distinct roles within the University of Cincinnati (UC) Counseling Program. Before her time at UC, she earned a BA in Music from St. Mary’s College—Notre Dame. She then pursued a career as an arts administrator and elementary school teacher, teaching music, art, dance, and drama, after earning an MA in Arts Administration and an Elementary Teaching Certificate, both from UC.

Dr. Lanman has many memorable (and sometimes humbling!) stories to share from her journey as a UC Counseling Program master's student, doctoral candidate, and professor. She takes great pride and enthusiasm in the counseling profession and continues to work full-time in her private practice, specializing in work with adults and couples. An avid arts lover, swimmer, and environmentalist, she frequently travels to enjoy time with her expanding family—four grandchildren and counting!

$20 registration includes a buffet dinner and complimentary parking. Limited seats are available. Advance registration is requested by Monday, Oct. 27.

This event is open to all University of Cincinnati alumni, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, sexual orientation, or any other class or status protected by applicable law.
