Join us for an intimate and interactive webinar with political science alumni Deborah Hampton ’81 and Ania Cosby, MPA, ’21, ’23. Political science graduates land jobs in a variety of industries, and Deborah and Ania will describe their non-traditional career journeys. This webinar is perfect for students and recent alumni considering career paths and first jobs, alumni seeking a career transition, and alumni interested in sharing their career insights with others.

Chats with 'Cats is a virtual event series designed to enable organic, substantive conversation among UC alumni on a broad range of topics. Groups are small and led by volunteer hosts. Topics can range from professional development, research trends, hobbies, social issues and beyond. We want to help you connect to others with similar interests and goals.

Felicity Boykin received her bachelor's degree from UC in communications and public relations. Passionate about strategic planning and impactful messaging, she works with UC’s School of Public and International Affairs on marketing strategy, creating meaningful connections and inviting engagement.

Ania Crosby headshot

Ania Cosby ’21, ’23 
Ania Cosby is the Grants Director for the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, where she leads the preparation, submission and post-award management of grant proposals to foundations, government agencies and corporate sponsors. Her systematic approach to tracking progress and documenting outcomes has been pivotal in maintaining strong relationships with funders.

Prior to joining the YMCA, Ania was Manager of Non-Profit Services at Ignite Philanthropy, a Grant Writing Specialist for the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (ULGSO), and Grants Coordinator for Keep Cincinnati Beautiful

Ania is an active member of Pi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society in Political Science (Pi Beta Chapter), Pi Beta Phi Sorority (OH Kappa), Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity (Epsilon Chapter), and the Pi Beta Phi Sorority Alumnae Chapter. She is a graduate of the Leadership Council for Nonprofits’ Board Orientation and Leadership Development (BOLD) and has earned a standard professional development certificate.

Ania holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s in public administration from UC. She has been invited to speak at Miami University and UC to share her expertise in the non-profit sector and grant funding.

Deborah Hampton headshot

Deborah A. Hampton ’81 
Deborah Hampton is the Trademark Team Leader at The Chemours Company. Her expertise spans consumer retail products to highly sophisticated chemical technologies and telecommunications. She is regarded as one of the few highly specialized and proficient non-attorneys with extensive knowledge and experience in intellectual property.  

Deborah serves in numerous professional volunteer capacities. She is the chapter Parliamentarian of the Wilmington, Del., Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She serves on the UC Alumni Association’s College of Arts and Science’s Alumni Board. She recently became President-Elect of the International Trademark Association, is the Chair of the Planning Committee. She is also a member of the Association’s Leadership Development Committee and the Women's LeadershIP Initiative Project Team.

Deborah is featured in the book "Lessons from The Top Paralegal Experts: The 15 Most Successful Paralegals in America and What You Can Learn from Them" by Carole A. Bruno. She served two terms on the Trademark Public Advisory Committee of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Since 2017, she has been consistently nominated and selected for World Trademark Review’s WTR300: The World’s Leading Corporate Trademark Professionals. Additionally, for the past six years, she has been recognized as one of World Trademark Review’s Global Trademark Thought Leaders. 

Deborah received her bachelor’s degree in political science from UC. She also received an ABA-Approved Paralegal Certificate from Adelphi University.
