Alumni Association Legacy Scholarships

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Cincinnati! We are very excited that you have so strongly considered continuing your education as a Bearcat.

Your application to the University of Cincinnati Office of Admissions indicates that you have a parent and/or grandparent who is a UC alumnus or alumna. As a legacy student, you may be eligible for the Christos P. Demakes Legacy Scholarship awarded by the University of Cincinnati Alumni Association (UCAA).

Applicants who are awarded the Christos P. Demakes Legacy Scholarship for their first year at the University of Cincinnati will also have the opportunity to receive the UCAA Undergraduate Legacy Scholarship which is renewable for years two through four.

The criteria for these two legacy scholarships are:

Eligibility requirements include:

• Incoming UC freshman
  
• Parent or grandparent attended UC and is a current member of the Loyal Bearcat Society or William Howard Taft Society.
• Recipients are selected based on the holistic review of the application, including but not limited to:
  • Academic performance in high school
    
  • Standardized test scores
  • Co-curricular activities and employment
  • Community service and/or diverse experiences

Potentially renewable years two through four

Eligibility requirements include:

• Previous recipient of the Christos P. Demakes Legacy Scholarship
• Current full-time UC freshman, sophomore or junior
• Parent or grandparent attended UC and is a current member of the Loyal Bearcat Society or William Howard Taft Society.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
