About Michele Monigold
Jackson High School Music Department Head, Director of Bands
Adjunct Instructor, Kent State University
Michele holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (double major in clarinet performance and music education) and The University of Akron (Master's degree in Music Education). Michele holds Mentor and Master Teacher certifications, is a National Geographic certified educator/trainer, and is an active OMEA adjudicator for both woodwinds and large group adjudicated events.
About Sean Monigold
Sean Monigold is the Director of Jazz Bands at Jackson High School, where he also serves as Instrumental Music Content Specialist for the district.
The Jazz program at Jackson High School consists of 5 full big bands, involving over 100 students. All bands rehearse one night per week and are named for the time that rehearsal starts. Membership in the Jackson High School Band is required of all big band members and the bands are ability-grouped by audition.
